For most recruitment agencies, IR35 reform to off-payroll workers was big news. But while you may be aware of all the changes that will take place as its consequence, it is quite possible that public sector bodies and contractors may not be aware of the finer points of IR35.
Have you briefed your client and contractors on how IR35 will impact their relationship with your agency? Are your workers aware of how this will impact their payments? Will your public sector clients continue to take PCSs or will they deal with only those workers that fall within IR35 rules? Will your workers want a higher pay – and if so, will you be able to get it for them? Are your public sector clients willing/able to pay those rates?
Another area potentially missed is your own staff and their understanding – as people on the front line, they need to be equipped to answer the questions posed by contractors and clients.
The government has published a range of guidance documents which can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/off-payroll-working-in-the-public-sector-reform-of-intermediaries-legislation
